Britney Spears will be seated for a broad-ranging deposition… if Jamie Spears’ lawyer gets his way. Britney’s lawyer sent an email asking Britney to set a date.
Alex Weingarten (Jamie Spears’ lawyer) sent the email Wednesday afternoon to Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosegart. The email was obtained by TMZ and it states that Weingarten wrote, “We have written to inform you that we are going to depose your client. We would love to talk about a mutually acceptable date.”
The email continues, “Ofcourse, we will also discuss Mr. Spears’ deposition with you, and work with you in finding a mutually acceptable date for that to occur as well.”
According to the email, Weingarten said that Jamie would be deposed first and Britney would follow — either the next or same day.
Weingarten said that he would like for the depose to take place in March.
Britney on the stage
According to sources who have knowledge, Britney’s proposed deposition is broad. Britney made a number of allegations against Jamie at the June court hearing. She claimed that her father refused to allow her to get married and have children. Britney also claimed she was being held in a facility against her will. These issues will be addressed in the depo.
Our sources say Britney should also be questioned about child safety. [possible]Drug use” is just one of the many issues.
We reported that Rosengart wants to question Jamie Spears about alleged mismanagement of the conservatorship and its use for personal gain.
The email invites you to a “meet & confer” to determine the dates and ground rules of the deposition. But it ends with this: “If we do not hear from you by Friday, February 4, 2022, then we will proceed unilaterally.” Weingarten will almost certainly be subpoenaed.
